Nafplio Marathon 2025 / 09/03/25
The Municipality of Nafplio announces, organizes and invites to the athletic event: "Nafplio Marathon", on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
The race will be held with the support of the Peloponnese Region.
The Organization includes: Marathon Race (42,195m)
Half Marathon Race (21,100m)
5 km Race for all (race also for Middle School & High School students)
1 km Race (race exclusively for Elementary School students)
All races will be held according to the following terms:
1. Race Details
1.1 Race Date
Sunday, March 30, 2025.
1.2 Start - Finish
The start of the Marathon and Half Marathon will take place in front of the Three Admirals (Town Hall) and Kapodistria Squares, specifically on Andreas Syngrou Street.
The start of the 5 and 1 km races will take place on the coastal Bouboulinas Avenue in front of Filellinon Square.
The finishes of all races will take place in the demarcated area in front of Trion Navarchon (Town Hall) and Kapodistria Squares.
The supporting functions of all events are located in Trion Navarchon (Town Hall) and Kapodistria Squares, on Amalias Street.
1.3 Race Route
The Marathon route (42.195 km) consists of two turns from the Half Marathon route.
The Half Marathon route (21.097 km) begins with the start at Trion Navarchon (Town Hall) and Kapodistria Squares and then, the runners continue left on Bouboulinas coastal road to Filellinon Square where they make a U-turn at the port parking lot from the opening of the islet. Then they return and continue their course towards Nea Kio from the coastal road of Nafplio - N. Kio and make a U-turn before its junction with the National Resistance road before the bridge of the Inachos River. They return from the same road towards Nafplio and from Vasileos Pavlou, Sidiras Merarchias and Asklipiou Avenue they are led to the Agia Eleousa junction where they make a U-turn. Immediately afterwards, the runners return to the city from Asklipiou Avenue and finally, from Kyprou and 25th March streets, they turn right onto Andreas Syggrou and finish at the same point.
The 5 km route starts in front of Filellinon Square. Participants continue straight on Bouboulinas coastal road and turn diagonally right onto Thessalonikis street and then left onto Sidiras Merarchias street. Runners continue on Asklipiou Avenue and make a U-turn after Fougaros. They return again from Asklipiou Avenue to the center of Nafplio and immediately after Kyprou and 25th March streets they turn right onto Andreas Syggrou and finish in front of the Three Admirals (Town Hall) and Kapodistria Squares.
The 1 km route starts in front of Filellinon Square and finishes in front of Trion Navarchon (Timarcheio) and Kapodistria Squares.
1.4 Race Schedule
In order to participate in the 5 km race, someone must be 12 years of age or older.
In the 1 km race, only students from the Primary Schools of Nafplio are eligible to participate. Participants in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the race.
2.2 Registration Methods

Registration forms will be accepted until Friday, March 21, 2025.

Attention: No registrations (electronic & paper) will be made on the day of the race and the week preceding the race. Registrations will be made, if there are available places, exclusively on the days the Registration Center is open.

2.4 Types of Registration
A) Individual, which are made by individuals.
B) Group. Group registrations concern the registration of a group of at least 6 people, who participate in the same event.
Registration of a group with the participation of its members in a different race section (e.g. half marathon and 5 km) will not be accepted and cannot be registered in the registration system.
Group registrations are addressed to sports clubs, running clubs, gyms, companies, private and public organizations, travel agencies, as well as simple groups of people who wish to participate as a group.
During group registration, a Team Leader must be appointed. In any case, the Team Leader represents the group for various issues in communication with the organizers.
Group registrations are made online. Initially, the Leader registers and then receives an e-mail with instructions for registering members.
C) School Registrations
1. Registrations for Primary School students for the 1 km race are free of charge and must be made in groups through their school.
2. For group school registration, a responsible Educator - Leader of the School Unit must initially be appointed. The Leader represents the School Unit on various issues in communication with the organizers.
3. Group registrations for School Units are made online. Initially, the Leader registers and then receives an e-mail with instructions for registering members.
2.5 Payment methods
The participation fee can be paid in the following ways:

NOTE: Additional charges & bank expenses ARE SOLELY BORNE BY THE PARTICIPANT. Registrations that involve a payment of a smaller participation amount than the predetermined amount will be canceled.
In order for a participant's registration to be considered valid, the following must be done: The exact participation amount must be paid no later than 3 days after submitting the application.
The participant's name and surname and the race of his choice must be indicated in the justification of the deposit receipt.
After paying the money, the deposit receipt must be sent by e-mail to registrations@nafplio-marathon.gr.
A registration confirmation e-mail will be sent in the days following the completion of the above actions. If after completing the payment you do not receive a registration confirmation to the e-mail you have provided, please contact us.
There is no possibility of refunding the subscription after the race has taken place in the event that someone does not ultimately take part in it.
2.6 Equipment Collection – Registration Center
Location: Nafplio – FOUGARO.
Days and Hours of Operation:
Friday 28.03.2025 from 17:00 – 20:00 and Saturday 29.03.2025 from 09:00 – 19:00.
Participants must collect their participation package exclusively from the Registration Center.
Each runner’s participation package is personal. In the event that a runner wants to use someone else’s number, they must inform the Registration Center and complete a registration application.

11:30 1 km Race Start 12:30 Awards 11:00 – 13:00 1.5 Electronic Timing The electronic timing of the Marathon, Half Marathon and 5 km as well as the publication of the results is carried out by an official timing company. All participating runners in the Marathon, Half Marathon and 5 km must wear the timing chip which they receive together with their participation number from the Registration Center. Electronic control and timing mats for recording intermediate times will be available: For the Marathon road: at the start, at the finish, as well as at the following checkpoints: at the 7th km., 17th km., 21.1th km., 28.1th km. and 38.1th km. For the Half Marathon road: at the start, at the finish, as well as at the following checkpoints: at the 7th km. and 17th km. For the 5 km.: at the start, at the finish, as well as shortly after the turning point at the 2.9th km. *The 1 km race is participatory in nature and therefore takes place without timing. 1.6 Time Limit The finishing time limit for the Marathon is six hours (06:00), for the Half Marathon is three (03:00), for the 5 km. is one hour (01:00) and for the 1 km. fifteen minutes (00:15). 1.7 Results The results are announced on the internet after the end of the races. Any objections can be submitted within five working days from the day the results are posted on the Organization's website. Once the results are official, the runners of the timed races (Marathon, Half Marathon & 5 km.) will be able to download their finishing photo and the runners of all races will be able to print the commemorative participation certificate from the Organization's website. If an athlete is disqualified from an event due to a violation of an Article of the regulations in force, in the official results, he is not classified, disqualified or listed and a reference is made to the Article that was violated (Article 145.1). In the 1 km race, all participants will be registered alphabetically and will receive their diploma electronically. 2. Participation 2.1 Right to Participate

The first three winners of the general classification of Men and Women of the Marathon, Half Marathon and 5 km. will be awarded a Medal & Cup.
The runners of the Marathon, Half Marathon and 5 km. will have the opportunity to print their participation certificate with their time.
The runners of the Marathon, Half Marathon and 5 km. will have the opportunity to print their racing photo for FREE through a special application on the Organization's site.
By decision of the Organizing Committee, special awards will be awarded.
3.2 Health Coverage
During the race, Medical Services, Rescue Teams and First Aid personnel will be present at the start-finish area and at selected points along the route to deal with any medical emergency by providing first aid.
In any case, all competitors participate at their own risk. The organizers bear no responsibility for anything that happens to the participants of the Event regarding HEALTH issues during the race due to a lack of preventive medical check-up.
It is recommended that all participants have recently undergone a medical examination and, in particular, those over 35 years of age, a cardiological check-up.
The organizers will not request medical certificates because all participants compete exclusively at their own risk and minors at the risk of their guardians, by signing the relevant Responsible Declaration which is included in the Registration Declaration.
3.3 Support Stations
Along the race routes there will be support stations for runners.
For the Marathon & Half Marathon: From the 5th km. and every 2.5 km. there will be a bottled water station.
From the 15th km. and up to the 35th km. an isotonic drink will be available.
At the 15th, 25th and 35th km. a banana will be available.
Bottled water as well as isotonic drinks will be available for runners and at the Finishing point.
For the 5 km route: There will be an intermediate support station for runners at the 2.5 km. for the provision of bottled water.
Bottled water is available for participants and at the finishing point.
At the Start/Finish runner services there will be bottled water for everyone as well as a variety of other products (juices, fruits, etc.)
3.4 Clothing Storage
For the participants of the Marathon, Half Marathon and 5 km. there will be a dry clothes storage service opposite the Town Hall Square in the courtyard of the 1st High School of Nafplio. Runners will leave their clothes in the designated storage area inside the Organization's bag, which must bear the sticker with their participation number.
All runners are kindly requested not to include valuables, personal documents, mobile phones or medications in the bags for storage. Furthermore, they are kindly requested to come for collection immediately after finishing by showing their participation number without further delays.
3.5 Kilometer Markings
There will be clearly visible kilometer markings along the routes.
